Work you do for Cuesoft

Work product created in connection with a Cuesoft engagement — code, designs, inventions, documentation, improvements — is assigned to Cuesoft: all rights, title and interest, including copyright, patent and trade-secret rights. This is stated in every contractor and internship agreement, and the assignment survives the engagement.

The open-source products

For Apparule, Expendit and Upstat, Cuesoft publishes the assigned work under the MIT licence in public repositories. That is the deliberate other half of the assignment: contributors' commits ship under their own GitHub identities, so interns and engineers leave with a public, attributable record of everything they built — the git log is the CV.

Client work

On CueHIRE™ engagements, intellectual property in the deliverables created specifically for a client belongs (or transfers) to that client per the engagement's terms — typically on full payment. Cuesoft retains its pre-existing tools, frameworks, templates, generic know-how and reusable libraries.

Cueprise™ and company platforms

Cueprise™ — its software, source code, architecture, interfaces and documentation — is and remains exclusively Cuesoft's property. Licensees receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it; configurations and integrations done for a licensee do not transfer ownership. Licensee data inside Cueprise™, however, remains the licensee's property — see data protection.

Trademarks

Cuesoft™, CueTA™, CueLABS™, CueHIRE™, Cueprise™, The CueShow™ and The CueBlog™ are Cuesoft marks. Use them exactly, with the mark, and never in a way that implies endorsement of anything we have not endorsed.
