Violations

A violation is a documented breach of the policies in this handbook or of the commitments in your agreement. For interns, the ladder below applies. For contractors and clients, remedies follow the signed agreement — notice, cure and termination terms — rather than warnings; the record keeping is the same.

  1. First violation — a written warning from the supervising founder, stating exactly what happened and what changes.
  2. Repeated violations of the same kind within a year — termination of the engagement, per the notice terms of your agreement.
  3. Severe misconduct — harassment, dishonesty, forged documentation, breach of confidentiality — skips the ladder entirely: immediate termination, and where warranted, referral to law enforcement.

Examples that earn a violation:

  • Committing to a client or peer meeting and missing it without telling the other party.
  • Dishonesty in any form, including submitting fake documentation.
  • Going silent on committed ceremonies or communication without notice.
  • Careless handling of credentials or confidential material (see the cybersecurity policy).

Violations are recorded in writing and shared with the person involved — nothing goes on the record silently.
