Engagement Types
Cuesoft is deliberately lean. Work gets done by three kinds of people, and a signed agreement governs each. This page is the map; the agreement you signed is the territory.
| Engagement | Who | Governing document |
|---|---|---|
| Founders | The four leaders who run the divisions and teach at CueTA™ — see leadership. | — |
| Independent contractors | Specialists engaged for defined scopes of work (engineering, design, and more). | Independent Contractor Agreement — see contractors |
| CueLABS™ interns | Engineers and researchers in the open-source internship programme. | Internship Agreement — see internships |
What this means in practice
- No employment relationship. Contractors and interns are not employees, agents or representatives of Cuesoft, and nothing in the handbook creates an employment relationship. Nobody may enter contracts or incur liabilities on Cuesoft's behalf except the founders.
- Own tools. Contractors and interns provide their own equipment and work environment (see BYOD).
- Own taxes. Contractors are solely responsible for their taxes and statutory payments on compensation received.
- Confidentiality and IP travel with the agreement. Every engagement carries confidentiality obligations and intellectual-property assignment — see the confidentiality and intellectual property policies.
- The pathway is real, never promised. Interns and academy learners can go forward through CueHIRE™ into client work; nobody at Cuesoft promises anyone employment, a placement or a salary.
